THE FOLIO SOCIETY PUBLICATIONS

Series Note: The Folio Society is an independent London publisher that was founded in 1947 by Charles Ede, Christopher Sandford (of the Golden Cockerel Press), and Alan Bott (the founder of Pan Books).

It produces high-quality editions of classic and contemporary books which are beautiful and meticulously crafted books and which are works of art in themselves. There is great attention devoted by The Folio Society both to the text and the graphic design of its books. The illustrations are often in color and large in format, creating an immersive and visually rich reading experience. The editions are often bound in leather or cloth, with gilt edges and ribbon markers.

In addition to the main series (often referred to by librarians and collectors as the "The Folio Society Publications" series and of which the first 99 titles are listed on this page), The Folio Society has issued a number of other separate series, such as The Folio Poets,
