FAMOUS REGIMENTS (HAMISH HAMILTON)
Series Note: This series of at least 63 books was published first by Hamish Hamilton, and later by Leo Cooper and then Frederick Warne. Each volume in this series bore the Pen & Sword Books emblem and presented the history of a regiment and its engagements and duties.

The series was launched by the publisher Lee Cooper. According to the obituary "Lee Cooper Dies" in The Bookseller (3 December 2013):

"While at Hamish Hamilton, [Lee Cooper] started Famous Regiments, a series of regimental histories edited by General Sir Brian Horrocks, and he took them with him when he set up Leo Cooper Ltd, specialising in books on military history, in 1968."

The series editor was Lt.-General Sir Brian Horrocks.
