THE BOOKSTALL SERIES (N.S.W. BOOKSTALL)
Series Note:
The publisher of this series, New South Wales Bookstall Company Ltd., was located at 476 George Street, Sydney N.S.W., Australia in the early years of the 20th century.

The N.S.W. Bookstall began as a chain of bookstalls at railway and ferry teminals. From 1900 under the leadership of its new owner A. C. Rowlandson, it published the first mass market paperback series in Australia: The Bookstall Series.

The series was primarily fiction titles written and published by Australian authors (e.g. Steele Rudd, Louis Becke, Sumner Locke,
Beatrice Grimshaw, Vance Palmer) and artists and Australian authors (e.g. Norman Lindsay; Percy Lindsay).
