AROUND THE WORLD PROGRAM
Series Note:
This series of non-fiction booklets was published by Nelson Doubleday, Inc. (with the cooperation of the American Geographical Society) in the 1950s and 1960s. The series consisted of 77 paperback booklets, which were designed to teach the geography, history, and culture of countries around the world. Each booklet focussed on one or a few related countries, and featured detailed text, duochrome illustrations, black-and-white photographs, and maps. Each booklet in the series also came with sheets of adhesive stickers of colour photographs which users could affix into designated spots in the pages of the booklets. The booklets were published at the rate of one per month and were sold by mail order with subscribers receiving a new booklet in the mail each month. Subscribers were offered the free bonus of pull-drawer album cases for the convenient storage of their booklet collection.
