In 1986 this series was being co-published by the York Press (Immeuble Esseily, Place Riad Soth, Beirut, Lebanon) and the Longman Group UK Limited (Longman House, Burnt Mill, Harlow, Essex CM20 2JE, England).

The general editors of York Notes in 1986 were Professor A. N. Jeffares (University of Stirling) and Professor Suheil Bushrui (American University of Beirut).

The copyright of some of the York Press titles in this period -- e.g. Notes on Harper Lee: To Kill a Mockingbird (1981, 1986 reprint) --- belonged to the Librairie du Liban.

In 1986 titles in this series were produced by Longman Group (FE) Ltd and printed in Hong Kong.
