GALAXY BOOKS (O.U.P.)
Series Note:
" 'Galaxy Books,' began in September 1956 to bring out reprints of titles, primarily from Oxford's backlist, which are no longer available in other editions or difficult to obtain but for which a definite demand seems to exist. First editions run from 7500 to 15,000 copies and prices are from $1.50 to $2.95. Covers are of simple, modernistic design and the series' primary markets are urban bookstores and campus communities. Ten titles had appeared by the end of 1957: the top seller was C. Wright Mill, 'White Collar,' 'English Men and Manners in the Eighteenth Century' by A. S. Turberville has nearly three hundred illustrations."
